My Musings:
Gia is involved with a controlling, abusive man who has isolated her from all her friends. She doesn't have any family in New York and is too scared to leave him on her own. She is finally able to stand up for herself when Gia's lover wants to share her with his business partner. She tries to fight them off when they are opportunely interrupted by a rival and she manages to escape. Needless to say, she is terrified of being held between two men.
The book continues several months later where Gia has run to her only remaining relative who just happens to be in law enforcement. He is also involved in a menage marriage which apparently in Houston, TX is not that unusual . . . really? Anyway, this gives her the opportunity to observe lovers who are happy in sharing relationships.
Which brings us to three former Marine commandos who happen to be brothers. Their fathers are also brothers and married to the same woman. They expect to have a marriage like their fathers and mother and are waiting to find the right woman. So, of course, they all fall in love with Gia . . . a woman who is terrified of being shared.
All of this seems very far fetched, but it really does work. Garrett, Gunnar, and Wes are strong, protective, alpha males. They truly care for Gia and are willing to wait until she is ready to develop a relationship with the three of them. To add to her issues, she is being stalked by a coworker who has a reputation for assaulting women, but no one has ever pressed charges.
Gia is determined to never be a victim again. She is studying martial arts so that she can protect herself and to build her confidence. Although, she is happy to be living near her cousin and looks to him for safety, she does not expect anyone to take care of her. Even so, she is not too stubborn or stupid to accept help when she needs it. In other words, she is not one of those "too stupid to live" (TSTL) heroines.
It is the ending of the book that caused me to rate it as a three rather than a four. All of the plot lines just came together too conveniently to be believable. I cannot say more without spoilers, but the climax was just too pat. My initial reaction was "you've gotta be kidding me." It worked, but it was still jarring.
I have read the book twice, once for my own enjoyment and again for review purposes. I have to say I liked it better the second time through. I think I just needed to get used to the author's style of writing. This is the first book in a series and there were several characters introduced that I look forward to reading about in their own books.

I love all of Dixie's books they are so worth it.everyone should read her books. They are that good. Love
It was actually a fun read. The pacing was a little off for me, but it was fun all the same.
While I fully understand this is fiction and I've already reviewed menage books that I did enjoy, this book was hard for me to wrap my head around. I have gotten in to some wolf menage stories, 3 brothers with one woman just felt kind of weird. Granted, the guys were hot and the sex was really hot, I just can't even imagine 3 brothers, much less former soldiers, getting naked together with one woman. Sorry, but that's why the 3 stars. And that was only for the great sex and protective guys.
Terrific beginning to a good series !! This author writes well, with deep feelings, thoughtful characters, and interesting, suspenseful tales. Garrett, Wes, Gunny and Gia are wonderful together. Their love heals them each in a different way. Her past brings trouble their way, and a new danger in her office is volatile. The guys are strong alphas, sweet and tender, and deeply loving. Their ménage is super sexy and romantic. More stories to come. ENJOY !!!
Getting a five star review out of me isn't easy. Heck, even four is pushing it. But this book earned every one of those litle stars, and then some. A truly strong woman who actually knew when to put her foot down with hermen and when to let them rule, alpha males who were protective and stubborn without going overboard (whoda thunk it?), hot yet not trashy sex scenes, keep you guessing suspense, and enough comedy to makeyou laugh when you needed it. THIS BOOK HAD IT ALL! Can't wait fot the next one! Awesome job Dixie!
At first I was a bit skeptical of reading this book, because the way I read and understood the synopsis was a little misleading...heroine runs from a menage relationship straight into another?? So I put it on my to read list and debated. I have not read a book by Ms. Dwyer that I did not like, so I finally decided to take the plunge. Now I am glad I did. The book is completely different than I initially thought, and has an excellent story line. The characters are well developed and their interactions do esteemed forced. I really enjoyed reading this and am looking forward to reading more.
The moment Garrett McCallister sets eyes on Gia Marie Giselli, he is caught hook, line, and sinker. Gia however is still healing her wounds from an unhealthy relationship that took a shocking turn and despite her attraction to Garrett, she is not comfortable dating.
Football assistant coach Wes McCallister can't believe his luck when meeting Gia, he wants her and goes out of his way to find an excuse to spend time with her. Texas Ranger Gunner "Gunny" has heard quite a bit about Gia through his brothers Wes and Garrett but nothing prepared him for the beautiful woman who already has found a way into his heart. Despite the fact that none of the brothers know about her past, they all know they need to go slow. An obsession with Gia is quickly taking an unhealthy turn by a co-worker and when she is hurt Wes, Garrett and Gunny are by her side.
Another wonderful read by Dixie Lynn Dwyer. The only thing that got me was Gunny's name, I had a hard time imagining a hulking Texas badass Ranger as Gunny.
